How to solve the wear problem of chute of belt conveyor transfer station

The coke transportation system equipment needs to work continuously to transport coke from the dry quenching coke tank to the dry quenching oven, and then through the electromagnetic feeder, rotary sealing valve, belt conveyor and chute, the coke will be transported to the coke sieving building for screening, and then sent to the coke silo for external transportation. The chute in the transfer station of the belt conveyor is the hub of this conveying chain, which has the important task of connecting the front and rear belts and controlling the flow of coke. Coke has high strength and hardness, irregular shape and many angles. The running speed of the belt of the coke transportation system is 1.6m/s, and the hard coke from the belt rushes to the inner wall of the chute at a high speed, which creates a very big impact on the chute, and then bounces back to the opposite direction and creates an impact on the other side of the chute.
Such a huge impact need to choose suitable wear-resistant materials for wear protection, usually used is a steel plate lined with cast stone plate with resin glue fixed as a whole structure composed of chute, due to the overall prefabrication of the chute as a whole, the weight of the large, inconvenient to install, once the cast stone plate wear or rupture, repair is very difficult, and the brittleness of the cast stone plate is not easy to withstand the impact of the use of 3-4 months after the chute's inner wall will be worn out very quickly leakage of material. After 3-4 months of use, the inner wall of the chute will soon be worn and leakage.
In this regard, our company has chosen KENAI® ceramic liner for the inner wall of the chute, which has the following characteristics:
1、Ceramic is an inorganic non-metallic material with high hardness (HV1100-1400) to resist the abrasion of conveyed materials.
2、Bonding 92% AL2O3 to Q235 steel plate and operating according to a strict adhesive process, the bonding strength is up to 15.3MPa and the ceramic is not easy to fall off.
3、Ceramic light weight, its density is 3.6g/cm3, only half of steel, can greatly reduce the equipment load.
4、Ceramic liner is connected to the chute by stud welding bolts, and the nuts are fastened, so it can be installed and replaced quickly.
5、Ceramic liner will not fall off due to bolt abrasion because all the parts contacting coke are ceramic.
6. The impact resistance and stability of ceramics are good, which increases the service life of the chute from 3-4 months to 3-5 years.

The use of Kyanite® ceramic liners as chute liners in the belt conveyor transfer station reduces the wear and tear of the equipment, improves the conveying efficiency of the belt conveyor transfer station, reduces the operating costs and ensures the stable operation of the coke transport system. At present, KENAI® ceramic liners have been widely used in coking plant chute, weighing hopper under the blast furnace chute, raw material plant chute, raw material plant disc feeder, harbor chute, coal drop pipe of thermal power plant and other mechanical equipment with high wear and tear, and in the future, KENAI® ceramic liners will, as always, solve more wear and tear problems for wear and tear-prone equipments.
